USA - EAA AirVenture - juli 2012 - boek nu! -

4Aviation bezoekt in de tweede helft van juli 2012 wederom het midwesten van de Verenigde staten. Tijdens deze reis bezoeken we onder andere:

• De grote EAA AirVenture op het wereldberoemde Oshkosh in de staat Wisconsin. Elk jaar komen hier duizenden luchtvaartenthousiasten bij elkaar om hun zelfgebouwde vliegtuigen te laten zien. Maar ook zijn er altijd honderden Warbirds present. Er bestaat ook de mogelijkheid om rondvluchten te maken in verscheidene vliegtuigtypes (kijk voor meer info op http://www.airventure.org).
• Het National Museum of the US Air Force nabij Wright Patterson AFB (Ohio).

Dit zal, zonder enige twijfel, dé reis van het jaar worden op gebied van Warbirds en oude vliegtuigen. Klik hier voor een indruk van de soortgelijke reis die we in 2011 organiseerden.

We vertrekken op donderdag 19 juli richting de Verenigde Staten en komen op zaterdag 28 juli 2012 weer terug in Nederland. Vanaf Amsterdam vliegen we, via Heathrow, naar Chicago O’Hare. We komen daar op donderdagmiddag (19 juli) aan. Op vrijdag willen we, via Fort Wayne (A-10’s van de Indiana ANG) richting Dayton rijden. Wellicht kunnen we dan op vrijdagmiddag nog even bij Wright Patterson AFB kijken. Op zaterdag hebben we de hele dag de tijd voor het National Museum of the USAF bij Wright Patterson.

Op zondag rijden we dan, via Grissom AFB (kijkje nemen op het veld en een kijkje bij het museum [gaat pas om 12 uur open, dan moeten wij alweer verder zijn]) en General Mitchell IAP (kijkje nemen op het veld), richting Green Bay. Vanuit Green Bay gaan we van maandag tot en met donderdag naar de EAA AirVenture op Oshkosh. We hebben dan de mogelijkheid om bijna alles van de AirVenture mee te maken.

Op vrijdag (27 juli) rijden we dan, via Dane County (kijkje nemen voor de F-16’s van de Wisconsin ANG), weer richting Chicago om daar  ’s avonds in te stappen voor de terugvlucht.

Reissom

De prijs voor deze reis bedraagt € 1674,- per persoon. Deze prijs omvat:

• Vlucht van Nederland naar de Verenigde Staten
• Vlucht van de Verenigde Staten naar Nederland
• Hotelaccomodatie (middenklasse hotels, op basis van tweepersoonskamers)
• Alle vervoer in de Verenigde Staten

De eenpersoonskamertoeslag bedraagt € 250,-.

Verzekeringen

Het is mogelijk om, via 4Aviation, een reis- en/of annuleringsverzekering af te sluiten. De reisverzekering kunnen we alleen voor Nederlands ingezetenen aanbieden.

• Reisverzekering (basis + geneeskundige kosten + ongevallen + rechtsbijstand)

(€ 1,75 per persoon per dag in Europa, € 2,65 per persoon per dag Werelddekking + € 3,50 poliskosten)

• Annuleringsverzekering

(5,5% van de reissom plus € 3,50 poliskosten en daarover 9,7% assurantiebelasting)

• Noot: prijzen en assurantiebelasting zijn onderheving aan (wettelijke) wijzigingen

Na aanmelding ontvang je een verzoek tot betaling (30% van de reissom). Zodra de betaling binnen is ontvang je een bevestiging via de E-mail. Aanmelding geschiedt op basis van de volgorde van binnenkomst van de betaling. Door te betalen verklaar je je akkoord met de voorwaarden.

During the second half of July 2012, 4Aviation will visit the Midwest of the United States again. During the tour we will visit, amongst others:

• The huge and famous EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh (Wisconsin). Every year, thousands of aviation enthusiast get together to show their homebuilt planes. But there are always hundreds Warbirds present as well. There is also the possibility to make flights in various aircraft types (for more info see http://www.airventure.org.
• The National Museum of the US Air Force near Wright Patterson AFB (Ohio).

This will, without any doubt, be the journey of the year if you are interested in old planes and Warbirds. Click here for an impression of the similar tour we organised in 2011.

Itinerary

Following is a preliminary schedule.

We will leave for the USA on Thursday 19 July and return back in the Netherlands on Saturday 28 July 2012. From Amsterdam we will fly to Chicago O’Hare, stopping in Heathrow. We will arrive in Chicago on Thursday afternoon (19 July). On Friday we want to head for Dayton, stopping in Fort Wayne (Indiana ANG A-10s). Maybe we can have a look at Wright Patterson AFB on Friday afternoon. For Saturday we have scheduled a full day in the National Museum of the USAF near Wright Patterson.

On Sunday we will stop at Grissom AFB (have a quick look at the base and the museum [opens at noon, we should be gone by then]) and General Mitchell IAP (also have a quick look if anything happens). We will end up in Green Bay at the end of the day. From Green Bay we will visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh from Monday to Thursday. This offers the opportunity to witness almost everything that is related to the AirVenture.

On Friday (27 July) we will then head for Chicago again, detouring via Dane County (for the Wisconsin ANG F-16s). We will board our plane back to Europe during the evening.

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 1674,- per person. This price includes:

• Flight from The Netherlands to the United States
• Flight from the United States to The Netherlands
• Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis)
• All transportation in the United States
