We bezochten de Marrakech Air Show voor de tweede keer.<\/p>\n<p>Na een tussenstop op Paris \/ Charles de Gaulle arriveerde het gezelschap, op woensdag 4 april, laat in de middag op het vliegveld van Casablanca. Hier vielen al direct drie zaken op: het weer buiten zag er anders uit dan wat je van een land als Marokko zou verwachten (flinke regenbuien, vooral landinwaarts), ambtenaren van de paspoortcontrole hebben alle tijd van de wereld, en het was Air France\/KLM vervelend genoeg niet gelukt om al onze bagage tegelijk met ons in Casablanca te krijgen. Het was nog een kleine 3 uur rijden naar Marrakech dus we waren blij eindelijk onderweg te zijn. Dankzij de nieuwe snelweg tussen Casablanca en Marrakech hadden we de kans om een goede aankomsttijd neer te zetten, ware het niet dat onze chauffeur daar andere idee\u00ebn over had. De goede man is al rijdend minstens 50 keer gebeld, en bij elk ge\u00ebngageerd gesprek zakte de snelheid van het busje omlaag naar beneden de 60 km\/u. Desondanks, met een tussenstop halverwege voor de rokers en proviand, kwamen we toch nog om half tien \u2019s avonds aan bij ons hotel in Marrakech. Dit bleek een verademing: alles was in kannen en kruiken geregeld en we konden zelfs nog in het restaurant aanschuiven voor het avondeten.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-009f2fed696e9733e0ea917a5efa2459'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-2-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-2' aria-controls='tab-id-2-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >5 april 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-2-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-2-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Voor de volgende ochtend (de donderdag, 5 april) was met het taxibedrijf afgesproken dat ze met twee kleine busjes om 8 uur klaar zouden staan bij het hotel. Iedereen stond om die tijd buiten natuurlijk al te trappelen maar de taxi\u2019s waren nergens te bekennen. Tijd om er weer een telefoontje aan te wagen. Met excuses arriveerde het eerste busje 5 minuten later (ondertussen bijna een half uur te laat) en het tweede busje niet lang daarna. Vervolgens toch maar met het taxibedrijf afgesproken dat wij met \u201c8 uur\u201d ook echt 8 uur bedoelen, en daar hadden zij wel begrip voor en ze hebben ons de rest van de dagen prima op tijd en met veel service vervoerd in Marrakech. De ingang van de Marrakech Air Show bleek niet meer dan 10 minuten rijden, en na nog wat afspraken gemaakt te hebben met de verantwoordelijke taxichauffeur stonden we even later bij de ingang. Een goede voorbereiding betaalt zichzelf dubbel en dwars terug, we werden verwacht en onze perskaarten lagen al netjes klaar. Van de ingang naar het expositie-terrein (in het dagelijkse leven een van de militaire platforms van het vliegveld M\u00e9gara) konden we gebruik maken van pendelbusjes, maar de 500 meter waren eigenlijk net zo snel en makkelijk te voet te overbruggen. Alleen detectiepoortjes en tassen controle scheidden nu ons nog van de Marokkaanse luchtmacht en dan voornamelijk hun vliegtuigen. Even later stond ook echt de 4Aviation groep zich te vergapen (ok\u00e9&#8230;niet letterlijk&#8230;maar het was w\u00e9l mooi!) aan de static show. De donderdag en vrijdag waren geen publieksdagen dus we hadden bijna vrij spel zonder veel publiek.<\/p>\n<p>Van bijna elk (operationeel) type stond minstens \u00e9\u00e9n exemplaar opgesteld in het zonnetje. Twee fonkelnieuwe F-16\u2019s domineerden de static, maar ook een F-5, Mirage F1, twee Alpha-Jets en een partij helikopters deden het platform fraai opkleuren. De Gendarmerie had flink uitgepakt met vier helikopters en een Turbo Trush. Misschien wel de vreemdste eend in de bijt was een US Army UH-72A Lakota helikopter, op het eerste gezicht een exemplaar van Grafenw\u00f6hr in Duitsland maar het bleek toch echt om een toestel uit Fort Polk, Virginia te gaan. Waarschijnlijk wil men dit type graag aan de Marokkaanse luchtmacht slijten. Van het verwachte slechte weer was weinig terecht gekomen, het was juist prachtig weer met blauwe luchten en witte wolkjes! De 4Aviation groep kon enthousiast aan de slag.<\/p>\n<p>Eigenlijk het grootste \u201cprobleem\u201d van de Marrakech Air Show is het tegenlicht voor de fotografen tijdens het vliegprogramma. Voor betere lichtcondities is het daarom raadzaam om buiten het vliegveld aan de overkant van de start- en landingsbaan te gaan staan. Normaal gesproken is dit een heel duidelijke \u201cnot done!\u201d in Marokko, maar tijdens de Marrakech Air Show knijpen de autoriteiten graag een oogje dicht en kan je daar zonder zorgen gaan staan. Na een telefoontje naar het taxibedrijf stonden even later onze twee busjes klaar om ons naar de overkant te brengen. Het duurde even voordat de chauffeurs begrepen waar we heen wilden, maar eenmaal ter plaatse konden we een goed bekijken wat de beste locatie kon zijn. Al vrij snel kwamen we op een soort van puin stort terecht tussen een begraafplaats en de muur van het vliegveld, zowel vanaf de grond als vanaf de muur van de begraafplaats bleek dit een prima plek om al het vliegende te fotograferen. Stonden we eerst nog bijna alleen op deze plek, niet veel later zouden we omringd zijn door de lokale jeugd die niet lastig of vervelend waren, alleen luidruchtig soms. Om half drie werd het burger vliegverkeer stil gelegd en kon het vliegprogramma van de Marrakech Air Show beginnen. De Franse militaire Extra 300 was leuk maar daar kwamen we natuurlijk niet voor. Wel voor een rommelige helikopter demo van vier Gazelle\u2019s, vier AB206\u2019en, drie Puma\u2019s en \u00e9\u00e9n AB205; de formatie van een KC-130, Mirage F1, F-5 en twee F-16\u2019s; een C-130 die een water drop deed; en een formatie van vier Mirage F1\u2019s. Het lokale demo team March Verte met hun Cap 232\u2019s sloot het vliegprogramma af, al met al niet meer dan een dik uur lang. Daarna kon het civiele vliegverkeer weer op gang komen. Besloten werd om vanaf hier niet meer terug te gaan naar de overkant maar rechtstreeks naar ons hotel, en aldus geschiede. \u2019s Avonds besloot een deel van de groep de stad te gaan verkennen, terwijl de rest besloot het avondeten weer in ons hotel te gaan nuttigen. De stad Marrakech is een avontuur op zich, dat moet je echt een keer meegemaakt hebben. Vooral het centrale en altijd drukke plein, de Djemaa el-Fna, een UNESCO wereld erfgoed, en de ontelbare aangrenzende kronkelende winkel steegjes (souks) laten gegarandeerd een positief onvergetelijke indruk achter. Het ontwijken van aanhoudende straathandelaren werd een sport op zich, maar nooit tot in het vervelende.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-7a32dd808de3b7f38798ce80b56a463f'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-3-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-3' aria-controls='tab-id-3-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >6 april 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-3-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-3-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Het programma voor vrijdag 6 april was niet zo heel verschillend als de dag er voor. Deze keer waren onze twee taxi busjes wel op tijd bij het hotel, en voordat we het wisten stond de hele 4Aviation groep weer op een bijna verlaten Marrakech Air Show terrein. Eigenlijk omdat we de helikopters vandaag wel eens van dichterbij wilden zien werd besloten om niet naar de overkant van het vliegveld te gaan maar om in en bij het kleine perscentrum te blijven. Hier konden we in luxe stijl vertoeven, goed voorzien van hapjes, nootjes en andere lekkernijen. Helaas bleek het vliegprogramma elke dag weer anders te zijn en voor de vrijdag was er geen helikopter demo, ook geen KC-130 formatie trouwens. Desondanks, en ondanks het tegenlicht, bleek het perscentrum toch een aardige plek voor de fotografen en konden er weer mooie plaatjes geschoten worden. In tegenstelling tot de donderdag begon het vliegprogramma met een parachutisten sprong uit een CN235; deed de CL-415 nu ook een water drop demo en was de Mirage F1 formatie vervangen door vier F-16\u2019s die echter niet mooi voorbij kwamen. \u2019s Avonds werd nogmaals de binnenstad van Marrakech vereerd met ons bezoek.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-f1bc86d403978fdf17d3a6821aa2d892'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-4-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-4' aria-controls='tab-id-4-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >7 april 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-4-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-4-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Onder de voorwaarde dat we \u2019s middags nogmaals het vliegprogramma vanaf de overkant van het vliegveld konden bleven, had de gehele groep eigenlijk voor de zaterdagmorgen (7 April) wel behoefte aan \u201ciets toeristisch\u201d. Hier bleek het taxibedrijf weer zeer behulpzaam, ze waren meer dan bereid (uiteraard tegen een kleine extra vergoeding) ons naar het nabijgelegen Atlasgebergte te vervoeren. Hier konden mooie natuurfoto\u2019s gemaakt worden, werden we gastvrij onthaald in een authentieke Berberhuis waar we muntthee kregen en vers gebakken brood. Even verderop waren we te gast bij een co\u00f6peratie van vrouwen die een lokale specialiteit maakten: olie van Argan pitten. Weer een stuk verderop konden de ge\u00efnteresseerden een klim maken naar een paar watervallen. Dat dit voor sommigen zwaarder was dan gedacht mocht de pret niet drukken en de noodzakelijke klauterpartijen leverden absoluut mooie vergezichten en foto\u2019s op. Gelukkig verliep de rit terug naar de stad en onze plek bij de begraafplaats sneller dan gedacht en zo konden we nog even een broodje zalm met friet (mooie combinatie) gaan halen in een lokaal eettentje. Ondertussen hadden we ook van bus gewisseld, de twee kleine busjes werden ingewisseld voor een grotere bus, met nieuwe chauffeur, die ons later naar Casablanca ging brengen. Deze bus en chauffeur waren niet van hetzelfde taxibedrijf maar door hen weer ingehuurd. Het vliegprogramma was wederom een variatie op de dagen ervoor. Nu bestond de KC-130 formatie uit maar liefst zeven toestellen, en gaven zowel de formaties van vier Mirage F1\u2019s als ook vier F-16\u2019s acte de pr\u00e9sence. Vooral laatstgenoemde was een mooie goedmaker voor het belabberde voorvliegen de dag ervoor. Na de derde March Verte vliegshow in drie dagen tijd was het tijd om afscheid te nemen van Marrakech en de Marrakech Air Show. De reis van Marrakech naar ons hotel in Casablanca was lang en minder plezierig. Oorzaak was de eigenwijze chauffeur van de bus die geen woord Engels of Frans bleek te spreken. Uiteindelijk is het ons gelukt om \u00e9n de ontbrekende bagage op te halen (die na 3 dagen eindelijk in Marrakech aan was gekomen), bij het juiste hotel in Casablanca in te checken en van de nachtrust te gaan genieten.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-f3db6ae0c66f26ee0ef68e706003eb6b'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-5-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-5' aria-controls='tab-id-5-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >8 april 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-5-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-5-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>De terugreis, op zondag 8 april, bestond onder andere uit een taxi met lekke band, een tussenstop op Marseille waar nog wat gespot kon worden en eenmaal op Schiphol bleken wederom (en geheel in stijl) vier stuks bagage niet te zijn meegekomen. Gelukkig voor alle betrokkenen werden deze twee dagen later netjes thuis bezorgd. Op Schiphol werd nog even afscheid genomen van elkaar waarna iedereen weer zijn eigen weg ging, met weer een hele ervaring, veel mooie foto\u2019s \u00e9n een aardige lijst met Marokkaanse nummers
