Duxford voor een bezoek aan de Flying Legends show en een kijkje bij het Imperial War Museum. Deze vliegshow, waarbij heel veel warbirds te aanschouwen zijn, combineert heel mooi met een bezoek aan het Imperial War Museum dat zich ook op Duxford bevindt. Net als in 2011 had een dubbeldekker vol aan mensen zich aangemeld voor deze reis. Met de nieuwe opstapplaatsen in Nijmegen en Tiel begon het \u2018vullen van de bus\u2019 op vrijdagmiddag laat. De laatste van iets meer dan 70 passagiers namen in Gent-Gentbrugge plaats. Van daaruit was het nog ongeveer 2 uur rijden naar Calais voor de overtocht. Deze vertrok mooi op tijd zodat we op zaterdagochtend al ruim op tijd in de buurt van Duxford kwamen (met een wat langere stop voor een ontbijt).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-699a34a7ce4223ca69cac053b4168ca6'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-2-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-2' aria-controls='tab-id-2-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >30 juni 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-2-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-2-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Zoals altijd gingen de poorten op zaterdag (30 juni) weer eerder open dan de 8 uur die in de brochures staat. Dus, terwijl de chauffeur op weg was naar zijn hotel, liepen we al ruim op tijd langs de flightline. Iedereen ging zijn eigen gang, bezocht het museum, genoot van de achtergrondverhalen of genoot van de rust tot de vliegshow van start ging.<\/p>\n<p>De vliegshow begint tijdens de Flying Legends in de middag. Per thema kiezen de vliegtuigen het luchtruim. Hoogtepunten dit jaar waren de P-47D \u201cSnafu\u201d, die aan het begin van dit seizoen zijn eerste vlucht heeft gemaakt, de P-38 van de Flying Bulls, de Sikorsky S-38 vliegboot en de formatie van drie Spitfire Mk1\u2019s. Het spectaculaire einde van de show is de \u2018Balbo\u2019 (afgeleid van de Italiaanse naam Italo Balbo, die als een van de eersten massa-formaties organiseerde). Bij de Balbo stijgen alle deelnemers warbirds op om vervolgens in \u00e9\u00e9n grote formatie een keer voorbij te vliegen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-av_tab-ccbaccf27e5fe5ad1d4070780e6e9dbe'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-3-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-3' aria-controls='tab-id-3-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >1 juli 2012<\/div><div id='tab-id-3-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-3-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Om 19.00 uur werd de terugreis aanvaard en ook die verliep lekker soepel. Enige minpuntje was dat de bootovertocht een uurtje vertraagd was. Toch wist iedereen op de vroeg ochtend van zondag 1 juli de bus redelijk op tijd aan te treffen op de plaats waar hij of zij weer uit wilde stappen. De meesten wisten toen al zeker dat ze volgend jaar weer van de partij zullen zijn.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<\/div><br \/>\n<div id='av-masonry-1' class='av-masonry
