Na een korte introductie zetten we koers naar Warschau, nadat we de gebruikelijke formaliteiten op de luchthaven afhandelden. Na een korte en vlotte vlucht werden de eerste militaire vliegtuigen al gefotografeerd. We parkeerden vlakbij twee B737&#8217;s van de 1.BLTr, samen met verschillende Mi-8&#8217;s en W-3&#8217;s van dezelfde eenheid. Foto&#8217;s konden worden genomen vanaf de grond, vanuit de bus en vanuit de terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Na nog wat formaliteiten te hebben afgehandeld op Warschau-Chopin, vertrokken we rond het middaguur richting Seoul-Incheon. Ondanks een vertraging in Polen arriveerden we ruim een \u200b\u200bhalf uur eerder dan gepland in Zuid-Korea. Hoewel het buiten nog pikdonker was, was het lokaal al zes uur &#8217;s ochtends (donderdag 16 oktober). Na de nodige controles, het activeren van onze e-sims en het inslaan van wat proviand, gingen we de huurauto ophalen. Bij Enterprise kregen we al snel een &#8220;ruime&#8221; Kia toegewezen. Na het inladen van de bagage en het verstellen van de stoelen, zetten we koers naar Suwon.<\/p>\n<p>Ongeveer anderhalf uur later bevonden we ons in de buurt van de approach. Toen we onze camera&#8217;s pakten, waren de eerste twee vliegtuigen al in de break. Binnen 45 minuten hadden we een dozijn KF-5&#8217;s gefotografeerd, waarna we besloten door te rijden naar Osan. Al snel verscheen er een U-2S boven ons, waarschijnlijk van een rehearsal boven Seoul AB ter voorbereiding op ADEX. Naast deze U-2, die we uiteindelijk prachtig konden fotograferen, zagen we die middag ook een C-17 (Travis), verschillende EA-18G Growlers en F-16&#8217;s met de staartcodes OS, WP en WW.<\/p>\n<p>Op weg naar het hotel passeerden we een F-86F die tentoongesteld stond in het Osan Jukmiryeong Vredespark. Het hotel, waar we niet veel later aankwamen, zou onze uitvalsbasis zijn voor de komende drie nachten. Na het inchecken ging een kleine groep samen dineren in de stad. Ondertussen hadden we ook een aantal andere 4Aviation-leden ontmoet. Maar liefst vier verschillende 4Aviation-groepen kwamen samen in hetzelfde hotel.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjis7gr4-dbad1410afb442d4aef1a4deebc96dfd'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-2-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-2' aria-controls='tab-id-2-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >17 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-2-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-2-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Op vrijdag 17 oktober ontbeten we met een grote groep van 4Aviation op de 12e verdieping van Hotel Amare. Daarna reden we met vier auto&#8217;s naar Seongnam\/Seoul AB voor de eerste dag van ADEX. We vonden een parkeerplek in de buurt, liepen een klein stukje naar de ticketbalie en arriveerden ruim voor de echte drukte op de luchtmachtbasis. Een Koreaanse Black Hawk kwam over de baan, kort na de landing van een CN-235. Na de static display te hebben bekeken, begon de openings-flypast van ADEX eerder dan verwacht. Onder leiding van een KC-330 vloog een formatie van 24 straaljagers over het veld: KF-5&#8217;s, F-15K&#8217;s, (K)F-16&#8217;s, F-35&#8217;s en FA-50&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>De middag stond in het teken van demonstraties door de Black Eagles, de KF-21, KT-1, LAH-1, T-50 en een grote SAR-demonstratie met een KA-1 en koppeltjes HH-60&#8217;s, FA-50&#8217;s en KF-16C&#8217;s. Tussen de demonstraties door was er nog genoeg te doen. C-130&#8217;s en CN-235&#8217;s voerden ervaringsvluchten uit voor prijswinnaars, en een groep T-50&#8217;s en FA-50&#8217;s arriveerde voor een speciaal evenement dat voor zaterdag gepland stond. Met af en toe een hangardeur die open ging, was er meer dan genoeg te doen om iedereen de hele dag bezig te houden, met droog en zelfs zonnig weer.<\/p>\n<p>Na een lange terugreis naar het hotel van slechts 25 kilometer &#8211; het verkeer in Seoul staat bekend om zijn constante files &#8211; genoten we van een goed diner en besloten we de volgende dag niet terug te keren naar de basis.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjis93rx-9b1a2eb2805ca2ff7d389bd51fb4635f'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-3-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-3' aria-controls='tab-id-3-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >18 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-3-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-3-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Samen met de twee groepen die later naar Taiwan zouden reizen, bezochten we zaterdag (18 oktober) Boramae Park in Seoul, waar acht vliegtuigen tentoongesteld staan \u200b\u200bin een parkachtige omgeving met herfstkleuren en een stedelijke achtergrond. Daarna fotografeerden we een C-47 in het centrum van Seoul en gingen we naar het indrukwekkende War Memorial museum met zijn uitgebreide collectie vliegtuigen, zowel binnen als buiten.<\/p>\n<p>Net na het middaguur was het tijd om naar de approach van Seoul AB te gaan. Het plan was om de deelnemers aan de ADEX-luchtshow van buitenaf te fotograferen. De demonstraties zelf waren nauwelijks zichtbaar, maar we konden de terugkerende vliegtuigen wel vastleggen. Toen de show ten einde liep en de andere twee 4Aviation-groepen naar een hotel dichter bij Incheon vertrokken voor hun vervolgreis, slaagde onze Korea-groep erin &#8211; ondanks de moeilijke lichtomstandigheden &#8211; een Falcon 2000 te fotograferen. Na weer een lange, door files geplaagde rit terug naar hetzelfde hotel en een goed diner, bespraken we het plan voor zondag.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjisbgob-7e1dd76f0313da47cd9ca9dabe761a65'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-4-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-4' aria-controls='tab-id-4-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >19 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-4-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-4-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Op zondag 19 oktober begonnen we de dag in Osan. Van buitenaf heb je een gedeeltelijk zicht op de visitors ramp. We zagen verschillende F\/A-18&#8217;s van VMFA-232 (Red Devils), die vanuit MCAS Iwakuni waren gearriveerd als bezoekers voor het weekend. Aanvankelijk was er niet veel activiteit bij deze Hornets, maar zij waren het wel die in een groep van vijf over ons heen vlogen toen we langs het Desiderio Army Airfield reden. Daar fotografeerden we een paar Apaches en een Chinook, terwijl in de verte rijen Black Hawks zichtbaar waren.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel de afstanden klein zijn, kunnen reistijden misleidend zijn. Het was rond het middaguur toen we aankwamen bij de indrukwekkende militaire begraafplaats in Daejeon. In respectvolle stilte fotografeerden we de vliegtuigen en helikopters die als museumstukken tentoongesteld stonden.<\/p>\n<p>Na een late lunch en het fotograferen van een F-4D in de kleuren van de Black Eagles op een rotonde, bezochten we verschillende museumvliegtuigen die buiten stonden opgesteld bij het Barracks Experience Center in de buurt van Gyeryong. De dag eindigde in Nonsan, waar een rekruteringscentrum voor het Koreaanse leger is gevestigd. Tegen de avond kwamen we aan bij ons hotel in Gwangju, waar sommige deelnemers traditionele Koreaanse parades bijwoonden die verband hielden met het kimchiseizoen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjiscy9n-cc18a48858c4169f39e0de058914af9f'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-5-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-5' aria-controls='tab-id-5-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >20 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-5-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-5-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>We begonnen de maandag (20 oktober) in het approach van Gwangju, de thuisbasis van drie T-50\/TA-50 squadrons. Met een voorspelde noordenwind werd een lastige ochtend verwacht. Toch vonden we een geschikte plek. Nadat we bijna 20 T(A)-50&#8217;s hadden gefotografeerd, werden we aangesproken door de lokale politie en verzocht te vertrekken.<\/p>\n<p>Na iets meer dan een uur rijden en een korte toiletpauze kwamen we aan in Sacheon. Ook hier kwam de wind uit het noorden, dus vonden we een plekje bij een verlaten huis vlakbij de landingsbaan. We fotografeerden een reeks KT-1&#8217;s voordat we besloten ons geluk te beproeven met het fotograferen van de museumvliegtuigen in het KAI Aerospace Museum. Hoewel het museum op maandag gesloten is, waren de poorten open en liepen er een paar kinderen en Italianen binnen rond. We fotografeerden snel meer dan twee dozijn vliegtuigen voordat we beleefd werden verzocht te vertrekken, omdat de poorten gingen sluiten. Een ritje langs KAI leverde twee KUH-1P&#8217;s op.<\/p>\n<p>Terug op onze landingsplek landden er nog een handvol KT-1&#8217;s, gevolgd door het hoogtepunt: een KF-21 (003), twee FA-50&#8217;s en een TA-50. Toen we vertrokken, zagen we een MUH-1 (001) boven de landingsbaan zweven. Een paar mensen uit de groep slaagden erin om hem vanuit de auto te fotograferen voordat hij verdween. Vervolgens reden we door naar Daegu, en opnieuw duurden de laatste 4 kilometer net zo lang als de eerste 120.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjisexhh-22b572648612e3a662f298b1a6c52a24'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-6-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-6' aria-controls='tab-id-6-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >21 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-6-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-6-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Bij aankomst in Daegu (dinsdag 21 oktober) hoorden we al straaljagergeluiden. Helaas bleek dit de voorbode te zijn van een rustige ochtend. We zagen geen F-15K&#8217;s en slechts een paar civiele kisten zorgden voor wat beweging. We besloten naar Yecheon te rijden (FA-50\/TA-50). Op \u00e9\u00e9n van de routes passeerden we Gumi-Si, waar een AH-1J, een F-4D en een F-5A langs de snelweg staan. Natuurlijk stopten we \u2013 en net op dat moment vloog er een UH-60P van de marine over.<\/p>\n<p>Het zou de laatste beweging van de dag zijn geweest als we ons aan de geplande route hadden gehouden. Yecheon was angstvallig stil. Na meer dan een uur gaven we de poging op en zetten koers naar Cheongju, onze overnachtingsplaats. Maar na een stop om proviand in te slaan en de navigatie te controleren, ontdekten we dat er veel verkeer op onze route was. We veranderden onze plannen en reden in plaats daarvan naar Chungju.<\/p>\n<p>De auto was nog maar net tot stilstand gekomen \u200b\u200btoen de eerste twee F-16&#8217;s het circuit in gingen, gevolgd door nog eens vijftien binnen veertig minuten. Ook twee F-35&#8217;s uit het nabijgelegen Cheongju kwamen voorbij. Tevreden vertrokken we richting het hotel, met een omweg langs de universiteit. De dag eindigde met een Koreaanse barbecue.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjish37f-1938d709fcb60a28967d383d708f6199'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-7-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-7' aria-controls='tab-id-7-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >22 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-7-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-7-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Aan het eind van de dag concludeerden we dat deze woensdag (22 oktober) niet de meest succesvolle dag van de reis was. We begonnen vroeg aan de zuidkant van Cheongju vanwege de noordenwind, maar deze locatie staat bekend als lastig. Je komt al snel op priv\u00e9terrein terecht. Nog voordat we de eerste F-35&#8217;s hoorden vertrekken, waren we al twee keer beleefd verzocht om ergens anders heen te gaan.<\/p>\n<p>Het wisselende gebruik van de landingsbaan, het frequente civiele vliegverkeer en de helikopters, in combinatie met het slechte licht, zorgden voor een frustrerende ochtend. Naast enkele passagiersvliegtuigen fotografeerden we een Ka-32 en een paar Chinooks. De vertrekkende F-35&#8217;s waren (nog) niet teruggekeerd.<\/p>\n<p>Rond het middaguur reden we naar Seongmu, een kleine trainingsbasis met An-2&#8217;s en KT-100 trainingsvliegtuigen. Ondanks dat het maar een half uur zuidelijker was, was het weer veel beter. Vanuit de auto zagen we de Black Eagles een demonstratie geven boven wat het museum van de Koreaanse Luchtmachtacademie leek te zijn. Vanuit de approach hoorden we de KT-100&#8217;s opstijgen en fotografeerden we er snel zes. Dat was alles voor deze wave. Op basis van onze ervaring besloten we terug te keren naar Cheongju.<\/p>\n<p>Daar hadden we echter geen geluk. Een KUH-1 vloog redelijk dichtbij, twee F-16&#8217;s vlogen recht over ons heen en het licht werd slecht net toen drie F-35&#8217;s landden.<\/p>\n<p>Met de herinneringen aan de vorige dag hoopten we dat Chungju ons misschien nog wel F-16&#8217;s zou opleveren in de late namiddag. Bij aankomst, tevens onze overnachtingsplaats, zagen we echter geen verdere beweging. Een diner in een Koreaans-Italiaans restaurant sloot de dag af.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjisj2o6-a2cd52fa1204abe518f3a30e59fe84ae'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-8-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-8' aria-controls='tab-id-8-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >23 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-8-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-8-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>De focus lag donderdag (23 oktober) op Chungju en Wonju. We hadden nuttige informatie gekregen van een groep die de week ervoor in Korea was geweest, die suggereerde dat Wonju &#8217;s ochtends veelbelovend was. Ondanks het goede weer in Chungju besloten we al snel onze plannen te wijzigen. Bij aankomst in Wonju hoorden we FA-50&#8217;s opstijgen en waren er ook KA-1&#8217;s in de lucht. Zodra we onze plek hadden gevonden, begonnen KA-1&#8217;s het circuit in te vliegen.<\/p>\n<p>Met prachtige herfstkleuren &#8211; Wonju ligt aan een rivier en tegen een heuvelrug &#8211; fotografeerden we snel twee FA-50&#8217;s, een KUH-1 en twee KA-1&#8217;s. Het geluid van de straaljagers bleef aanhouden, maar het bleek dat de Black Eagles aan het oefenen waren met twee groepen van vier. Dit legde het operationele vliegverkeer meer dan 45 minuten stil. De activiteit werd hervat met twee KA-1&#8217;s, maar het hoogtepunt kwam van achter de heuvels toen plotseling drie F-15K&#8217;s met uitgeklapt landingsgestel verschenen. We legden ze vast in perfect licht. De twee eerdere KA-1&#8217;s volgden kort daarna, wat zorgde voor een zeer geslaagde ochtend.<\/p>\n<p>Na een korte stop voor eten en drinken keerden we terug naar Chungju. Bij aankomst steeg een F-16 op &#8211; bewijs dat er vliegactiviteit was. Nog voordat we geparkeerd hadden, landden de eerste F-16&#8217;s. Net als twee dagen eerder werden we rijkelijk beloond. In totaal zagen we die middag 13 nieuwe (K\/R)F-16&#8217;s, plus een F-15K (uit Daegu) en zelfs een An-2 (uit Seongmu)!<\/p>\n<p>Met een brede glimlach reden we terug naar Hotel Amare. Onderweg maakten we een toeristische stop bij de Jejeongji-dam. Een formatie Black Hawk-helikopters van het Amerikaanse leger vloog over, maar fotograferen was niet mogelijk. We kwamen na zonsondergang aan bij het hotel en genoten van een warme maaltijd in de buurt.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjiskj8c-e232c7b7078e23241edfc2b037592b5e'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-9-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-9' aria-controls='tab-id-9-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >24 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-9-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-9-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Vrijdag 24 oktober was de laatste operationele dag van de tour. Tijdens ADEX kregen we een nuttige tip van een Nederlandse spotter over Osan, dus brachten we de ochtend en een groot deel van de middag daar door, in de hoop een flink aantal F-16&#8217;s te zien. In plaats daarvan zagen we een breed scala aan onverwachte types, maar kregen slechts vier F-16&#8217;s voor onze lenzen. Hoewel we er kort na de lunch nog veel meer zagen vertrekken, keerden ze niet terug naar Osan. We vermoeden dat ze ergens anders zijn geland.<\/p>\n<p>Wat zagen we? Een C-12J (Luchtmacht), een UC-12F (Marine) en een C-12U (Landmacht). Een C-17 vertrok; EA-18G&#8217;s arriveerden; een UC-35 (Marines) kwam binnen; en laat in de middag zagen we ook nog een C-37A (Luchtmacht). Plus twee U-2&#8217;s &#8211; waarvan we er \u00e9\u00e9n de week ervoor al hadden gefotografeerd. Op de grond zagen we een Nieuw-Zeelandse C-130, en in de verte of hoog in de lucht spotten we verschillende Apaches en Black Hawks (Amerikaans leger), een Chinook, een CN-235 en een C-130 van de Zuid-Koreaanse luchtmacht.<\/p>\n<p>We sloten de dag af met Chinees eten. De koffers werden ingepakt en klaargemaakt voor de terugvlucht naar Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-mjislflm-5231761f2410911b72c236db511596f7'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-10-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-10' aria-controls='tab-id-10-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >25 oktober 2025<\/div><div id='tab-id-10-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-10-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Direct na het ontbijt vertrokken we zaterdag (25 oktober) naar Seoul-Incheon. Een kort bezoekje aan de kustwachtterminal werd echter vakkundig verstoord door een zeldzame navigatiefout van de reisleider. We leverden de huurauto daarom in en checkten in voor de vlucht naar Warschau. Na een lange vlucht kwamen we bij schemering aan, wat betekende dat we niet hetzelfde geluk hadden als op de heenreis, al zagen we wel een nieuwe Mi-8. Een korte, vlotte vlucht van Polen naar Amsterdam maakte de reis compleet. Op Schiphol namen we afscheid en concludeerden we dat het weer een uitstekende reis was geweest.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<\/div><br \/>\n<div id='av-masonry-1' class='av-masonry
