Every year the Army Aviation (FAMET) part of the Spanish Forces holds a parade in June. For the first time, 4Aviation organised a tour to explore the possibilities. A 4-day tour around Madrid resulted in some nice pictures of FAMET helicopters.

Our main goal for this trip was to witness the helicopters participating in the yearly FAMET parade and the preparations leading up to the parade. We had some information from previous years about the ‘staging area’ for the parade (a small airfield outside Madrid), so that would be one of our goals. A small group of photographers gathered at Schiphol on Thursday 19 June 2025 for the flight to Madrid. After arrival we picked up our rental van and headed to Colmenar Viejo. When we arrived, we saw a CH-47 landing that we just missed. Luckily, it was followed by another 2 Chinooks and 7 EC145s that we could photograph. After this excitement we headed to Torrejón and Getafe where unfortunately nothing happened. All-in-all not a bad start of the trip!
