Bucharest International Air Show – August 2024

Information

Romania will once again host the Bucharest International Air Show at Baneasa airport in Bucharest. The event will take place on 30 and 31 August 2024 and we organise a tour to this nice airshow.

Romania’s air force is modernizing despite budgetary constraints. They recently stopped using the MiG-21 variant LanceR and switched to the F-16 (although in a nice camouflage scheme) and are already considering ordering the F-35. Many other types are unique to Romania in both type/variant and colour scheme, such as the An-30, IAR-99 Soim, IAK-52 (Yak-52), IAR316 (Alouette 3) and IAR330 SOCAT (Puma). They also operate the C-27, C-130, EC135 and SA365, among others. Add to that the foreign aircraft visiting the show and the cool photography opportunities and you have all the ingredients for a cool tour.

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Thursday 29 August we will fly to the Bucharest and return to the Netherlands on Sunday 1 September 2024.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Thursday 29 August 2024: fly to Buckarest
  • Friday 30 August 2024: visit BIAS
  • Saturday 31 August 2024: visit BIAS
  • Sunday 1 September 2024: return home to The Netherlands

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 949,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to Romania
  • Flight from Romania to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in Romania
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from Romania. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 599,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 150,-.
