The Spanish military base of Albacete is best known for the Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) exercises held several times a year. 4Aviation plans to visit the base in 2026 for exercise Ramstein Flag 2026. This relatively new exercise has been held at various locations within NATO territory in recent years, and now it’s Albacete’s turn (together with locations in Scandinavia). Many countries are participating, but we cannot yet disclose the exact participants. Albacete also has a large Airbus facility that handles the final assembly of all Spanish Airbus helicopters, and there are quite a few of them. There’s a good chance we’ll be picking up a few of them there too.
The exercise will be held from 8-19 June 2026, and we plan to spend about 5-6 days there, combining it with the nearby Spanish training base of San Javier, where the Pilatus PC-21 has replaced the CASA 101 and T-35.
