Albacete – Ramstein Flag – June 2026

Information

The Spanish military base of Albacete is best known for the Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) exercises held several times a year. 4Aviation plans to visit the base in 2026 for exercise Ramstein Flag 2026. The exercise will be held from 8-19 June 2026. This relatively new exercise has been held at various locations within NATO territory in recent years, and now it’s Albacete’s turn (together with locations in Scandinavia). Many countries are participating, but we do not know the exact participants. Albacete also has a large Airbus facility that handles the final assembly of all Spanish Airbus helicopters, and there are quite a few of them. There’s a good chance we’ll be picking up a few of them there too.

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Sunday 14 June we will fly to Spain (Valencia) from Eindhoven and return to the Netherlands on Thursday 18 June 2026. Note: for this tour we have chosen to fly from and to Eindhoven.

Unfortunately, we do not know which aircraft will be flying from Albacete. NATO Allied Air Command responded to our question regarding this: “At this stage, we cannot provide detailed information regarding those points as we are currently in the finalization process. We will share further details on participating nations and the extent of their involvement as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience over the coming weeks, as certain elements may still change close to the start of the exercise.”

However, time is running out. That is why we have decided to start taking bookings anyway. In principle, we are now offering over 3.5 days of spotting in Spain, with the emphasis on Albacete (due to the exercise, but also Ala14 and the Airbus helicopter facility), but we will also visit San Javier (PC-21s nowadays).

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 1099,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to Spain
  • Flight from Spain to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in Spain
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from Spain. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 799,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 235,-.

Not included:

  • individual travel insurance
  • entrance fees for museums or airshows
  • all meals
  • all personal expenditures
