Airshows – TX/AR – October 2023

Information

In the second half of October 2023 we will visit two interesting airshows in Texas and Arkansas. The Wings over Houston show (https://wingsoverhouston.com/) is held on 14-15 October, while the one at major transport base Little Rock AFB (https://www.thunderovertherock.com/) will be 21-22 October.

This will be combined with several other interesting bases in the wider area (think of NAS Corpus Christi, Randolph AFB, NAS Fort Worth, Vance AFB, etc.). The tour will last for about ten days.

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

We will fly to Houston on Friday 13 October 2023 and return to the Netherlands on Monday 23 October 2023.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Friday 13 October 2023: fly to Houston
  • Saturday 14 October 2023: visit show Ellington Field (Wings over Houston)
  • Sunday 15 October 2023: visit show Ellington Field (Wings over Houston)
  • Monday 16 October 2023: NAS Corpus Christi (T-6 & T-44) from outside and base visit to NAS Kingsville (T-45)
  • Tuesday 17 October 2023: Randolph AFB (T-1, T-6 & T-38) and San Antonio from outside
  • Wednesday 18 October 2023: JRB NAS Fort Worth (F-16, F/A-18, F-35, C-40, C-130) from outside
  • Thursday 19 October 2023: Vance AFB (T-1, T-6 & T-38) from outside
  • Friday 20 October 2023: Tulsa IAP (F-16) from outside
  • Saturday 21 October 2023: visit show Little Rock AFB (Thunder over the Rock)
  • Sunday 22 October 2023: fly to the Netherlands
  • Monday 23 October 2023: arrival in the Netherlands

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 2199,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to the USA
  • Flight from the USA to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in the USA
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from the USA. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 1649,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 335,-.

Not included:

  • individual travel insurance
  • entrance fees for museums or airshows
  • all meals
  • all personal expenditures
