EAA AirVenture – Oshkosh – Thunder over Michigan – USAF Museum – July 2024

Information

The annual EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh Wittman Regional Airport (WI) is the gathering for all aviation enthusiasts. Thousands of aircraft visit this show with hundreds of ‘Warbirds’ being present as well as dozens of active military aircraft. It’s not called the biggest air show in the world for nothing! We plan to visit the show from Sunday until Saturday, so you will not miss a thing. There are different themes every day and these are packed with full on aviation excitement, you can enjoy yourself from early morning until late in the evening.

In addition to the EAA we also intend to visit the Thunder over Michigan airshow at Willow Run, near Detroit AND a two day visit to the largest aircraft museum in the world, the National Museum of the USAF near Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Travel dates are from 17 to 29 July 2024. If this is to long, you can skip the first couple of days and join us on the 21st for the remainder of the tour. Reach out to us for more info on this option.

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Wednesday 17 July 2024 we will fly to the USA and return to the Netherlands on Monday 29 July 2024.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Wednesday 17 July 2024: fly to Detroit
  • Thursday 18 July 2024: visit National Museum of the USAF in Dayton/Wright Patterson AFB
  • Friday 19 July 2024: visit National Museum of the USAF in Dayton/Wright Patterson AFB
  • Saturday 20 July 2024: visit the Thunder over Michigan airshow at Willow Run
  • Sunday 21 July 2024: drive towards Oshkosh
  • Monday 22 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh
  • Tuesday 23 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh
  • Wednesday 24 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh
  • Thursday 25 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh
  • Friday 26 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh
  • Saturday 27 July 2024: visit the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh and drive towards Chicago
  • Sunday 28 July 2024: drive to Detroit for the flight home
  • Monday 29 July 2024: arrival in the Netherlands

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 2.899,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to the USA
  • Flight from the USA to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in the USA
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from the USA and within the USA. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 2.199,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 475,-.

Not included:

  • individual travel insurance
  • entrance fees for museums or airshows
  • all meals
  • all personal expenditures
