For 53 editions now, a fantastic air show called ‘Le Temps des Hélices’ has been taking place at Cerny-La Ferté-Alais Airport, an hour south of Paris. La Ferté is home to the organiser, Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis, which has been buying, restoring and operating vintage aircraft – ‘warbirds’ – from this unique airfield for as long as anyone can remember.
We hope that the 54th edition will take place in 2027, although this has not yet been confirmed. The event usually falls during the Pentecost weekend, which in 2027 is on 16 and 17 May.
In 2027, 4Aviation will be organising its first coach tour to this laid-back event, where we’ll spend two days enjoying vintage civil and military aviation; the modern French armed forces are also almost always well represented.
