RTAF 90th Anniversary Airshow – January 2027

Information

The Thai Air Force turns 90 in 2027 and plans to celebrate this in grand style between 22-24 January 2027. That seems like the perfect opportunity for us all to visit Thailand for a few days to witness the beautiful diversity of their air force.

We had initially announced this tour as a combination with the festivities surrounding the annual Children’s Day, but we think this combination will be much more interesting.

For the celebration of the Thai Air Force’s 90th anniversary, we are planning three different tours.

1) A tour where we first go to Taiwan to photograph their aircraft in the air from outside the fences and then to the air show in Thailand.

2) A tour solely to the air show in Thailand.

3) A tour where we first visit the air show in Thailand and then travel to Taiwan to visit a number of airfields, just like in tour 1.

We have visited both Thailand and Taiwan several times in the past (see the reports below).

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

During this tour, we only visit the air show in Thailand.

On Wednesday 20 January 2027 we will fly to Thailand and return to the Netherlands on Monday 25 January 2027.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Wednesday 20 January 2027: fly to Thailand
  • Thursday 21 January 2027: arrive in Thailand
  • Friday 22 January 2027: visit air show
  • Saturday 23 January 2027: visit air show
  • Sunday 24 January 2027: visit air show
  • Monday 25 January 2027: travel to The Netherlands
