Fairford 2017

The Royal International Air tattoo is an annual event not to be missed by the aviation enthusiast. Because of many requests we had a thorough look at our coach schedule and added almost a dozen new pick-up locations in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Therefor no fewer than seven coaches headed for RAF Fairford in 2017.

Main attractions for this year are too many to list, but we name a few: the USAF Thunderbirds and F-22 demo team, who came especially for the show from the US to celebrate the USAF 70th Anniversary, two Ukrainian Su-27s, one gave a thrilling demo, Australian E-7T Wedgetail, Canadian CH-147F Chinook, Midnight Hawks from Finland, French Mirage 2000 duo Couteau Delta, Greek Phantoms, KC-767 from Japan, C-130s from Israel, Jordan, Pakistan and Qatar and many, many more.

Our 1-day tour started on Friday 14 July 2017, when 5 coaches headed for Calais. Their onward journey to Fairford had a few glitches but they were they were overcome and all arrived at the venue on Saturday morning. Unfortunately the weather was not really good during the day and several items of the flying display were cancelled because of the low cloud base. Nevertheless there was enough to see and do for an enjoyable day out. After the show ended these coaches headed back home. In the meantime two more coaches had left The Netherlands for the two day tour. They probably passed each other on the Canal.
