Poland (2016)

The following morning, Tuesday 25 October 2016, we had an early rise and started our journey to Świdwin. After a phone call the day before we had already learnt that the Su-22s were scheduled to fly today! Via the well known Polish roads we arrived on time at our destination. The weather was fair but still our guide had news that all flights were postponed until the afternoon. In the meanwhile we were able to photograph the aircraft in the maintenance hangars waiting for better times. Unfortunately, these times never came as the flying in the afternoon was cancelled as well despite the improving weather conditions. Very frustrating to see a Su-22 basking in the sun on the flight line. Without the sound if engines starting up. The only movement of the day was a W-3 performing a test flight. Again disappointed we left the base on our way back to our hotel in Gdańsk. Along we stopped at a few locations for preserved aircraft, including at the gate op the former fighter base Słupsk.
