Taiwan II 2019

During the second week of November 2019, a small group of aviation enthusiasts explored several Air Force bases in Taiwan.

On Saturday 9 November 2019, four participants in the tour were waved goodbye at Schiphol for their direct flight to Taipei. These were awaited there on Sunday morning, November 10, 2019 by two other participants who had arrived from the United States and the tour leader who had remained in Taiwan from the week before. Customs formalities and picking up the bags went quickly again, moreover the rental car was already arranged so we could quickly go to Hsinschu to see if the Mirage would also fly on this Sunday. Soon the first jet sounds were heard, and the Mirages rushed to the runway and all in great weather. A dozen deltas were seen and most were recorded on the digital cards. A great start to the trip.

Via a few Wrecks & Relics we drove to Songshan where we just saw the presidential Boeing 737 land. There were a few Beech 1900s on the ramp and a Hercules came to visit. Via a few more W&Rs we then drove quietly to Hualien where we arrived early in the evening.
