Itinerary
We offer two options, the itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.
Option 1
On Wednesday 10 July we will fly to Colombia and return to the Netherlands on Wednesday 17 July 2019.
The plan at this moment is as follows:
We are planning a flight to Bogota and then onwards to Medellín. We spend the night in a hotel close to the airport. Thursday to Saturday we will visit the F-Air show which during previous editions has shown a beautiful variety of Colombian aircraft. Given the 100th anniversary of the Colombian Air Force, we think nice surprises are planned. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds are planned in any case.
On Saturday 13 July we will fly to in Bogota and spend thenight in a hotel close to the airport.
On Sunday 14 July we visit the new air force museum Jaime Duque and a few other Wrecks & Relics locations.
On Monday, 15 July, we will report to the police for a visit to Guaymaral in the north of the city. At this airport the police have a lot of UH-1s and Black Hawks in use, but also a lot of smaller aircraft. Then we go to the Diran (Direccion Nacional Antinarcoticos), at El Dorado Airport. There we can find the larger fixed wing aircraft of the police (ATR-42, Metro, BT-63, Twin Otter, Dash-8). The overnight stay is in Bogota again.
On Tuesday, 16 July, is already the last day in Colombia. We get up early and head for Villavicencio. At this field (not the military field) are quite a few companies with propliners (mostly Dakota’s) and we have a tour of all these companies. From Villavicencio we can possibly make a one-hour flight with a Dakota from Air Colombia. The price in 2017 was 66 USD with at least 20 participants. In the afternoon we return to Bogota for the return journey to the Netherlands.
Option 2
This is basically the same as option 1, with an extension to go home on Saturday 20 July. During these days we have no aviation related programme and all participants are free to go and explore Bogota on their own. We are trying to find a decent spot to watch the Independence parade over the city of Bogota.
During this segment we will take care of the accommodation. All other costs (eg transportation) will be shared by the participants.
The above visits have been confirmed by the authorities and we are, as always, in the proces to gain more access.
Tour cost
Option 1
Price for this tour is € 2345,- per person. This price includes:
- Flight from The Netherlands to Colombia
- Flight from Colombia to The Netherlands
- Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
- All transportation in Colombia (including domestic flights)
- € 15,- contribution to GGTO
You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from Colombia. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 1610,- per person, the domestic flights are included in this. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 500,-.

Option 2
Price for this tour is € 2465,- per person. This price includes:
- Flight from The Netherlands to Colombia
- Flight from Colombia to The Netherlands
- Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
- All transportation in Colombia (including domestic flights)* except from 17-20 July
- € 15,- contribution to GGTO
You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from Colombia. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 1730,- per person, the domestic flights are included in this. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 550,-.
