Bucharest International Air Show – August 2026

Information

Romania will once again host the Bucharest International Air Show (BIAS) at Baneasa airport in Bucharest. The event will take place on 28 and 29 August 2026 and we organise a tour to this nice airshow.

Like many NATO countries, Romania is investing heavily in the future. Examples of this include the best camouflaged F-16s in Europe, the colorful UH-60Ms of the SMURD (Emergency Service), and the recent intention to replace the IAR330 SOCATSs with the EC725. During previous editions of BIAS, the aircraft and helicopters of the Romanian Armed Forces were present in large numbers.

They operate types unique to Romania in both type/variant and colour scheme, such as the An-30, IAR-99 Soim, IAK-52 (Yak-52), IAR316 (Alouette 3) and IAR330 SOCAT (Puma). They also operate the C-27, C-130, EC135 and SA365, among others. Add to that the foreign aircraft visiting the show and the cool photography opportunities and you have all the ingredients for a cool tour.

Our hotel is within walking distance of the show, so you can go straight from your bed, through the bathroom to breakfast, and within a few minutes you can walk among the planes. You can also return whenever you want—complete freedom!

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Thursday 27 August we will fly to Bucharest and return to the Netherlands (Eindhoven) on Monday 31 August 2026.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Thursday 27 August 2026: fly to Bucharest
  • Friday 28 August 2026: visit the Bucharest International Airshow
  • Saturday 29 August 2026: visit the Bucharest International Airshow with nightshow
  • Sunday 30 August 2026: back-up day for BIAS, otherwise visit some Wrecks & Relics near Bucharest.
  • Monday 31 August 2026: fly to the Netherlands in the morning

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 1049,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to Bucharest (Romania)
  • Flight from Bucharest (Romania) to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in Romania
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also start the trip from an airport near you; in that case, you will need to arrange your own transport to and from Bucharest (Romania). The cost of the trip excluding flights is € 749,- per person. The single room supplement is € 195,-. If you need help booking a flight ticket, we are happy to assist.

Not included:

  • individual travel insurance
  • entrance fees for museums or airshows
  • all meals
  • all personal expenditures

It is possible to arrange a travel and/or cancellation insurance via 4Aviation. We can only offer these insurances to residents of The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
