Information

In October 2026, we will be spending around ten days in beautiful Asia, starting in South Korea for the biennial Sacheon Airshow (Gyeongnam Sacheon Aerospace Expo). Sacheon Airport is also home to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), which is one of the event’s co-organisers. During recent editions, they have extensively exhibited their latest aviation products and demonstrated them in flight. These include the KT-1 propeller trainer, the T-50 jet trainer and the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet, but let’s not forget the KUH-1 Surion transport helicopter and their latest addition, the LAH-1 Miron attack helicopter. As well as the operational KAI products, we also expect to see a broad cross-section of the South Korean armed forces at the show.

After two days at the show, we’ll head to Taiwan for a ‘tour of the island’, during which we’ll visit all the interesting military bases from outside the perimeter. We’ve done this many times before, and below you can see exactly what to expect during that week.

Where time and interest allow, we’ll also set aside time to visit museums and Wrecks & Relics.

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Wednesday 21 October we will fly to Seoul, South Korea and return to the Netherlands on Sunday 1 November 2026.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Wednesday 21 October 2026: fly to Seoul
  • Thursday 22 October 2026: arrive in Seoul and drive to Sacheon
  • Friday 23 October 2026: full day at Sacheon for the Air Show*
  • Saturday 24 October 2026: full day at Sacheon for the Ar Show
  • Sunday 25 October 2026: fly to Taipei
  • Monday 26 October 2026 – Friday 30 October 2026: visit Hsinchu, CCK, Tainan, Chiayi, Gangshan, Taitung
  • Saturday 31 October 2026: TBD
  • Sunday 1 November 2026: Fly to Amsterdam

Hualien is closed during our stay and their aircraft have moved to Taitung.

* We are trying to gain access to the large Korean Air Force Academy Museum in Cheongju and may visit there Friday morning.

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 3095,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to South Korea
  • Flight from South Korea to Taiwan
  • Flight from Taiwan to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in South Korea and Taiwan
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of all the above transportation (NL to South Korea to Taiwan to NL). The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 1895,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 275,-.
